The Building Regulations for Domestic Properties are split into two sections :-

• Part L1A - For new build properties
• Part L1B - For extensions and refurbishments

Both of the Approved Documents use the (SAP) Standard Assessment Proceedure as a methodology for proving that the energy performance requirements for the proposed building.

The current revisions to Part L mean that the energy performance of the building will be 20% better than the previous Regulations.
